Rob "Robalu" Gibsun, native of Richmond VA, is graduate of the VCU Communication Arts department with a minor in Creative Writing. A visual artist and award-winning poet, Gibsun's work speaks on topics spanning from the Afro-American struggle to redemptive love and artistic liberation. Rob combines vibrant imagery with theatrics to tell powerful stories that challenge & inspire. As a founder of the Slam Nahuatl at VCU (Good Clear Sound) performance poetry collective, he believes “Art is life therapy; through creative expression, we spit out the pains of self-oppression to make room for inner-peace.”
